Bus and Ethernet cables are indispensable in many industrial applications, such as drag chain systems, where dynamic acceleration, high speeds, and tight bend radii are part of everyday operation. Mechanical stresses including tight bends with small radii, dynamic tensile forces, and friction against surrounding components place significant strain on these cables and can cause damage over time. This wear can result in localized failures and unplanned production downtime.
This is why HELUKABEL developed its HELUCHAIN® bus cables—a solution specifically designed for these demanding applications. These cables have an especially robust outer sheath made of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) which is exceptionally resistant to abrasion, chemicals, and extreme temperatures. A screen with a high degree of coverage and flat braid angle provides reliable protection against EMC interference.
Even the inner jacket of HELUCHAIN® cables is made of TPE and pressure-extruded. This design precisely guides the conductors inside the cable and prevents internal deformation such as corkscrewing. The individual cable components are securely held in place, supporting long-term, stable, and high-quality data transmission. With a minimum bend radius of 7.5 × d, these cables achieve a service life of at least 5 million bend cycles. Laboratory testing also demonstrates reliable data transmission at even smaller bend radii. This makes them an ideal solution for highly dynamic machines—for example, in material handling and conveyor technology or in circuit board assembly applications.
HELUCHAIN® bus cables are available from stock for all common bus systems, including PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Ethernet up to CAT 7, and CAN bus. With UL approval, they are well suited for the U.S. market and ideal for export-oriented machine building.
